Beiben Kaijia new 8x8 heavy tactical armoured truck personnel carrier at AirShow China 2016.
At Zhuhai AirShow 2016, the Chinese defense Company NORINCO unveils the new heavy truck personnel carrier Beiben Kaijia based on an 8x8 military truck chassis from the Chinese truck manufacturer Beiben.
BeiBen Truck (Baotou BeiBen Heavy-Duty Truck Co) is a heavy-truck manufacturer based in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China. BeiBen, (North Benz), is part of the North industries Group Corporation (NORINCO).
The front of the Beiben Kaijia is fitted with a crew armour cab which offers protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. There is one single door on each side and there is one single hatch on the roof for the driver and commander. The engine is located at the rear of the crew cab.
The rear part of the truck has a large internal volume and the vehicle can carried a total of 22 military personnel. The infantrymen enter and leave the Beiben Kaijia via a power-operated ramp in the rear of the hull that opens downwards and has a manual door in the center side which has a single bulletproof window.
Each side of the crew compartment has a total of 5 small bulletproof windows with one single firing port for the first, third and fifth window.
For its self-protection the Beiben Kaijia is fitted with a remotely operated weapon station armed with a Type 85 12.7mm heavy machine gun.
