According to Geely group's spokesman, in order to demonstrate Geely's R&D and manufacturing competency to the world, Geely decided to facelift its concept model - Geely GE, and collect ideas and suggestions all over the world.
Geely GE debuted at 2009 Shanghai Auto Show days ago called forth sharp criticism and applause alongside. This time Geely show its confidence by collecting ideas and suggestions on its top model publicly.
This news reminds me Geely's logo collecting event which provided 3.6 million RMB reward on 1st Jan 2007.

Is Geely going to run a Open Source Auto Design project? No, Geely will not do that. But Geely GE's design collecting could be a semi-open-source system: Geely provides GE's demension, global designers work out their own drawings based on that, then Geely Group produce its new generation GE from the best one of those designs.
