Internet shopping websites are offering a medicine to help cure regret, Jianghuai Morning Post reported on Thursday.
Traders on the famous online platform taobao.com are offering the cure priced between 0.1 and 300 yuan.
One seller named “Linxienianhua” explained “the medicine mainly refers to providing services covering psychological consultation, career guidance and listening to your problems as well as imparting personal experiences.”
Another “Yangyangguoji” who also sells the “medicine” said that “I would like to apply my ears to you to listen to your stories. Regret medicine is for a story and a good listener.”
Similar expressions also can be seen on other trader’s pages on the website.
In fact, the medicine for regret is not a real medicine, but a virtual medicine offered to the buyers who want to repent via instant messaging or email, said another dealer. And the consultations mainly focus on the people who lost in love, the seller added.
As for profits, the shopkeeper admitted that the medicine is somewhat unmarketable as people think it’s a fraud.
Most shoppers said they don’t believe the so-called regret medicine and think it's just a stunt of the sellers. They remember the Chinese idiom "shi shang mei you hou hui yao" which means there is no cure for regret.
