Microsoft is the flagship of foreign company in China in copyright protection. But it lose the copyright lawsuit which launched by a Chinese domestic Company - Zhongyi Electronic Ltd. The court supports the claim of Zhongyi Electronic Ltd. Microsoft violate the copywrite of Chinese fonts (including 40,000 characters) which belong to Zhongyi Electronic Ltd.

In 2007, Microsoft was sued by Zhongyi Electronic Ltd. for packaging Zheng Chinese input method in Windows 98. 2.5 years after that, Beijing first court pronounces judgment today. The Beijing first court order Microsoft to stop selling Windows 98SE, Windows 2000 pro Chinese Version, Windows XP home Chinese Version and Windows XP pro Chinese version. Even though, these products not the mainstream products of Microsoft now in China. The representive of Microsoft refused to make any comment.
