Today’s climate changes, greenhouse gases (GHGs) and global warming are front page issues all over the world. However, little has actually been done to mitigate the impacts caused by GHGs. With substantial discrepancies in evaluating their impacts, countries are unable to come to an agreement that would be beneficial for all parties. The British Standards Institution is responsible for the development of the world’s first standards for the determination of carbon footprints for product and services. They recently published a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) to demonstrate Carbon Neutrality.

Key issues addressed during the event include:
• Carbon Neutrality – a concept of value?
• The need for concept credibility;
• The role for standards;
• PAS 2050; 2060 and what about later?

Who Should Attend?
This event will be of interest to anyone responsible for:
• Organisational/ corporate environmental policy;
• Organisational/ corporate image and reputation
• Energy use reduction programmes
and all who seek a role in helping to develop a low carbon economy in China
