1:30 - 3:30 PM, Monday, June 28 - AmCham-China Conference Center

The AmCham-China Healthcare Forum and the AmCham-China CSR Committee are pleased to jointly offer a presentation and networking session on the Healthy Cities and Opportunities to Participate featuring Dr. Mukundan Pillay, WHO Environmental Health Advisor.

The Healthy Cities is a combined program of China Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. The Chinese government established the China Health Reform 2020 as a national initiative to provide basic healthcare system for "safe, effective, convenient and affordable" healthcare services to urban and rural residents. This "public service" to the people will require government funding and supervision.

New business opportunities will be created through Health 2020 across the multiple determinants of health, including environment, climate, infrastructure, pharmaceutical and medical device availability, education, food safety, education, etc. Working together with governments, non-profits and commercial enterprises, partnerships and joint ventures will be used to reshape the general healthy operation of the city. The intention of Health 2020 is to bring about structural as well as attitude changes to the concept of health in every aspect of city.

At this event, the WHO Environmental Health Advisor, Dr. Mukundan Pillay, will share with you the overview into China's participation in the global healthy cities program. Kitty Vorisek will discuss examples of partnership, commercial and CSR programs. You will be given information on how cities in China are preparing to transform all of its cities into healthy cities in the next decade.

We are pleased that Roberta Lipson, CEO of Chindex and AmCham-China Board of Governors; and Andrew Andreasen, Managing Director of AIAL will open the session.
