Shenzhou Prison, Hebei China where real prison break happen

An extensive police manhunt is under way after a prisoner who was serving a 10-year sentence for robbery escaped on Sunday from a facility in Shenzhou city, North Hebei province, provincial authorities said on Wednesday.

The prisonbreak was officially confirmed on Sept 13.

An unnamed official from the prison confirmed on the phone that a breakout did happen on Sept 11, 2011, the Beijing News reported Wednesday. The police is hunting the escaped prisoners.

All the seven people who were buried in Friday's landslide in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region were confirmed dead, authorities said Monday.

The seven dead, all male, were aged 22 to 39, local authorities in Xinjiang's Kazak Autonomous Prefecture of Ili said.

They were among 11 people sleeping in three tents that served as makeshift dorms for workers in a mining area in Xinyuan County.

When the landslide happened at 2 a.m. Friday, only four workers escaped.
