China will launch a new subsidy policy for energy-saving vehicles next month in a bid to encourage automakers to increase green-technology investment and reduce oil consumption.

Energy-saving cars weighing between 1,205 kilograms to 1,320 kilograms should consume no more than 6.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers in order to obtain subsidies as of October 1, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on its website.

Sales of all bullet train tickets will go online at the end of this month, and passengers will pay lower fees if they refund tickets, the railway ministry said.

Following sales of tickets online since July for the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Tianjin high-speed trains, the Ministry of Railways said on Thursday that tickets for all bullet trains will be sold at 12306.cn.

Starting Tuesday, passengers can make a few clicks and buy tickets online for the Zhengzhou-Xi'an and Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railways.

Then from next Thursday, six more high-speed railways will go online, including Shanghai-Nanjing, Shanghai-Hangzhou and Guangzhou-Shenzhen.

Shenzhou Prison, Hebei China where real prison break happen

An extensive police manhunt is under way after a prisoner who was serving a 10-year sentence for robbery escaped on Sunday from a facility in Shenzhou city, North Hebei province, provincial authorities said on Wednesday.

The prisonbreak was officially confirmed on Sept 13.

An unnamed official from the prison confirmed on the phone that a breakout did happen on Sept 11, 2011, the Beijing News reported Wednesday. The police is hunting the escaped prisoners.
