From last North America auto show, every auto manufacturer shows their pure electric-power auto and Hybrid model. Each of them told us that you can buy these new-tech cars in 2010.

It seems like the new era of pure-electric  car is approaching us. But the president of Daimler insists on that the pure electric car can't take over intenal combusiton engine in the next 20 years. The distance per charge and the cost of usage are the main barriers for a long time.

While, it's another story in these Chinese auto manufacturers' eyes. The president of BYD AUTO, Wang Chuanfu, says if you regard the pure electric car as a revolution, then you have to be clear that this revolutions is against the current intenal combusiton engine, and this is what the international auto makers don't wanna face.

In his mind, the new era is necessary and unavoidable. The environmental problems and the energy crisis accelerate its speed. "We will throw the intenal combusiton engine over within 8 years." he adds.

The chief evironmental officer of Daimler, visited BYD AUTO and met Wang Chuanfu once, thinks that the pure-electric car needs at least 20 years before it's ready.

Wang Chuanfu says the government should plays a leading role in this revolution, and the Chinese government should learn from its counterpart of U.S.A.  support 7500 USD on each pure electric car.

Misfortune might be a blessing in disguises, the current global financial crisis might be a good things for the new era.
